ON TUESDAY, MARCH 15TH, Nathan Hale High School (NHHS) music students will be performing in a 12-hour Music Marathon to help raise money for our music program. Orchestra, choirs, wind ensemble, vocal jazz and jazz band classes, as well as solos, small groups, and combos will all be making music and performing throughout the day.
Donations to the Music Marathon help fund this year’s activities, including equipment, scores and supplies, and financial assistance for trips and lessons. These donations provide critical support for our high quality music program at NHHS. The Music Marathon will take place at NHHS, 10750 30th AVE NE, from 8:40 a.m. to 8:40 p.m. The day will come to a close with a special Young Musicians Concert with Walking Tacos dinner(for eligible donors) from 6:40 to 8:40 p.m. in the NHHS Commons
On March 15th, the NHHS Music Department will kick-off its first annual music marathon. That’s right, twelve hours of music, at Hale, featuring students and maybe a few teachers! Stay tuned for details regarding how to sign up, performance times and venues, and more about the walking taco!!
Thursday, February 25, Nathan Hale Performing Arts Center (PAC), 7:30 pm: Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz, and Jazz Combo with baked treats, banh mi (delicious Vietnamese sandwiches) and hot drinks available by cash/check donation. LIVE MUSIC and delicious food with friends and family! You won’t want to miss this evening of swinging musical excellence under the direction of Dan Rowe and Evan Norberg. Free.
The Nathan Hale Jazz Band and Combo performed at the 1st annual University of Washington Jazz Festival on Saturday, Jan. 30th. The performance of both band and combo earned them a spot on the stage for the evening concert. They were awarded Outstanding Jazz Band and Outstanding Combo and were joined by Ballard H.S. which was also selected to perform with the University of Washington Studio Jazz Band.
