The Nathan Hale Music Boosters are excited to announce that they have partnered with a local Glass Artist to give out beautiful “Thank You” gifts to donors.
At the $100 level donation are the 14K gf wrapped glass pendants shown below and for each $25 donation we are happy to give you a pair of earrings like the type pictured below.
These come in dozens of colors, but inventory in any specific color is limited, so the earlier you donate, the more choices you have of your Thank You gift color.
They make great gifts for the holidays, birthdays or yourself, and they are a tax deductible donation! Win win!!! And even better if your company matches donations, we are happy to give out our Tax ID Number and a donation receipt.

We’ve decided to skip the Sept. 10 Music Boosters meeting and instead focus on getting everyone to attend our first-ever Performing Arts Welcome Dinner! Mark your calendars and plan to be there:
What: Performing Arts Welcome Dinner
When: Monday, Sept. 16, 5 – 7 p.m.
Where: The Commons at Nathan Hale High School
All music and theater students, along with their families, are invited to bring a dish to share, meet the performing arts teachers, and learn about our programs, including upcoming auditions, travel opportunities, and other extra-curricular events.
Below is a tentative list of students who will be in the Hale Jazz Band this year. There are still some auditions going on. The list should be finalized by next Tuesday. For those who auditioned and did not make the band, please contact me if you want clarification on what areas you need to address for future auditions.

The auditions this year for the 2019-2020 band for Brass and Saxes will held at Nathan Hale High’s band room on the following dates:
Brass: Monday, August 26th from 9 to noon.
Saxes: Tuesday, August 27th from 9 to noon.
It will be first come, first serve so come at any time during the audition period for your instrument.
Here are the PDF’s for the Brass and Saxes. Both selections are up to you as to how fast you’d like to play these pieces. I’d rather have clean than sloppy! The hierarchy of what I listen for is in order: Tone, Time/Rhythm, Feel, Intonation, Style, Dexterity and Range (brass) in particular.
Be prepared to play any of the 12 major scales, chromatic scale (brass for range, saxes for dexterity), improvise on concert Bb minor Blues and sight reading. If you have an optional one-minute selection that will also help me understand your level of ability, go ahead and play it.
The results will be posted on this website as well as posted on the band room door.

Know anyone who will
be new to Nathan Hale in the fall?
Help us spread the word in the community that Tuesday, June 11, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., is Welcome Night for incoming families to Nathan Hale High School.
There will be a
short presentation in the Performing Arts Center followed by time to mingle,
ask questions, buy school Raider gear (t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.), and learn
all about the student clubs, sports teams, music and theater programs,
robotics, volunteering, and more.
We encourage current
families to come, too! You might learn something, and you can help create a
welcoming environment and share your experiences.
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes to make a successful music program? Do you rely on our young musicians to tell you what’s going on but feel like you’re missing something?
Be in the know by getting more involved. We need new Board Members to join our vibrant Nathan Hale Music Boosters. Make a difference with your great ideas and energy! Ready to join the board for the 2019-20 school year (or at least sign up to learn more about volunteering with the Boosters)? Send us an email or learn more…
How? Stop by our Boosters information table at one of our last performances of the year. Board Chair Carolyn Price will be there to answer your questions and welcome your support.
When? June 5 (Orchestras & Wind Ensemble) or June 12 (Vocal & Jazz Band and Concert Choir); both shows start at 7 p.m.
Where? Nathan Hale Performing Arts Center (Info. table will be in the foyer near the bake sale.)
Why? Our teachers and students rely on Music Boosters’ support to ensure all students at our school have access to a top-quality music program that enriches their education and our community.
Did you know that the school district provides less than one dollar per student for our music program? Be part of the Boosters and help our music program thrive!
Thanks for your support. We’re getting better every year!
